A Ugandan local movie dubbed ‘The Girl in the Yellow Jumper’ is set to hit Netflix next week making it the first Ugandan movie on the streaming service.
“The first Ugandan movie on Netflix, the girl in the yellow jumper, tune in next week!!” director Loukman Ali announced on twitter on Friday.

Written, produced, and directed by Loukman Ali, the 125 minutes Ugandan thriller debuted in Cinemas on April 18, 2020.
The government regulatory body of the communications sector in the country, Uganda Communications Commission took to twitter to congratulate Ali and his crew writing, “Congratulations to the Producer, Cast and Crew of the film ‘The girl in the Yellow Jumper’, Uganda’s first movie on Netflix.”

Starring Maurice Kirya, Philip Luswata, Micheal Wawuyo Jr., Rehema Nanfuka, and Gladys Oyenbot, the movie follows a man who escapes a hostage situation and returns home with a story to tell.
Some of the other major films by Ali include The Blind Date and Sixteen Rounds.
