Tory Lanez is said to have shouted ‘dance b**ch!’ as he shot at fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion‘s feet after Kylie Jenner’s pool party that was hosted by the model at her home last year, a Los Angeles detective Ryan Stogner testified in court on Tuesday.
“As she exited the vehicle, she heard Mr. Peterson yelling obscenities at her, and he stated, ‘Dance, bitch!’ And he then began firing a weapon at her,” Detective Stogner said during Lanez’s preliminary hearing.
According to Rolling Stone, the officer also alleged that Lanez – real name Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson – was intoxicated at the time of the shooting, and Stogner reaffirmed the 26-year-old artist’s claim that the Canadian rapper tried to bribe her to keep quiet.
“Megan stated the defendant apologized for doing it and offered her money and begged her to please not say anything and made a reference to the fact he was already on probation and he begged her not to say anything,” Stogner said.
Lanez who pleaded not guilty was in the courtroom listening intently to the testimony shouted at the officer: ‘How about you tell me what I was apologizing for, bro? That don’t make no sense.’
The ‘Say it’ rapper later went ahead to speak out against the reports in connection to his preliminary hearing via Twitter, writing, “NAH … i need someone to REPORT what was REALLY said in court today, 45 minutes of my lawyer stating contradictory evidence that proves my innocence should never come back as one false story forced to the media.”

However, despite his claims of innocence, after hearing Tuesday’s testimonies the judge decided to move forward with a trial which is scheduled to begin on January 13.
The 29-year-old rapper is charged with one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm—personal use of a firearm—and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle in connection with the shooting incident that occurred in July last year.
Earlier this year, Megan – real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, named Lanez as an “abuser” in a series of tweets about the incident.
“Y’all can’t tell when s— fake news?” the ‘savage’ rapper wrote. “Y’all still don’t see an ABUSER picking with me? The first court date got pushed back bc of the inauguration but I can’t wait until the MF FACTS come out !”
“Bitch you shot me AND MY STORY NOT CHANGING AND BITCH YOU GOING TO JAIL,” she added.
If convicted Lanez faces up to 22 years and eight months in state prison.
