Little Mix Announce Break to 'Pursue Solo Projects'
Little Mix is taking a break following their 2022 tour but insists they are "not splitting up."

After 10 years together, Little Mix is taking a break.

The trio has announced a break from the group to pursue individual solo careers. The news comes nearly a year after parting ways with member Jesy Nelson, who released her debut solo single “Boyz” featuring Nicki Minaj in October.

The remaining three members of the band — Leigh-Anne PinnockJade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards — took to Social media on Thursday (Dec.02) to announce that they were taking a break following their 2022 Confetti tour but insists they are “not splitting up.”

“We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix,” the trio wrote in a tweet, adding “It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.”

The British band reassured their hopeful fans that they have plans to create more music, tour, and do more performances in the future.

“We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay. We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more,” they shared

“We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever.”

The girl group was formed during season 8 of U.K.’s The X Factor in 2011 and went on to win the reality competition series becoming the first group to win the British version of the reality show.

As a four-piece, the band released six studio albums DNA, ConfettiLM5Glory DaysGet Weird and Salute. Among their greatest hits are songs such as “Wings,” “Woman Like Me,” “Black Magic,” “Confetti,” “Secret Love Song” “Shout out to my self” and “Touch.”

In November, the “sweet melodies” songstresses released their first greatest hits album, Between Us, in celebration of the group’s ten-year anniversary.

As of the time of their hiatus announcement, the band has sold over 60 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling girl groups. They are the first girl group in the history of the Brit Awards to win the Brit Award for British Group. Their awards include three Brit Awards, seven MTV Europe Music Awards (the most wins for Best UK & Ireland Act) two Teen Choice Awards, one iHeartRadio Music Award, and six Global Awards.
