Daniel Radcliffe Reveals Which Character He’d Play in a ‘Harry Potter’ Reboot

Daniel Radcliffe set to take on other roles for a hypothetical “Harry Potter” reboot.Speaking to Josh Horowitz’s ‘Happy sad confused” podcast this week , Radcliffe revealed: “I would probably want to go with, like, Sirius [Black] or [Remus] Lupin,” Those were always the two characters that I was like, ‘They’re great.”

“And also, I’m obviously biased by my experience of filming those scenes with those people, and they’re like some of my favorite memories,” he added. “I thought those guys were really cool.”

In the Harry-Potter films based on controversial author J.K. Rowling’s book series, Gary Oldman played the vicious Sirius Black while David Thewlis played fellow Marauder Remus Lupin, making multiple appearances throughout the films.

In the same interview, Radcliffe’s “Miracle Worker” co-stars, Geraldine Viswanathan and Karan Soni were also around and both revealed they’d play Hagrid and Hermoine respectively

“I want to play Hermoine. That’s the character I related to the most,” Soni replied,

If you’re looking forward to watching the reboot soon, sorry because its unlikely to happen anytime soon according to recent reports.

In a statement on Tuesday, HBO-Max and Warner Bros. revealed to the New York Post that “there are no ‘Harry Potter’ series in development at the studio or on the streaming platform.”

The eight-film franchise that aired from 2001 to 2011 will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this November 4th, however, speaking to ET Radcliffe revealed there could be no plans at the moment to do a special reunion to celebrate the milestone.

“I’m in the Dominican Republic at the moment filming and then I’m going to be busy, kind of working on bits and pieces until the end of the year. So yeah, I don’t know,” he said. “I’m sure there will be some sort of celebration but I don’t know if we will be getting together or anything. I’m sorry if that’s a bit of a disappointment to anyone.”

Back in 2019, the Swiss Army Man actor weighed in on the ‘inevitable’ Potter reboot.

“I’m sure there will be some other version of it. I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime – we’ve already got a few more [in the stage play The Cursed Child].” according to Digital Spy

Radcliffe added: “I feel like there are other stories from that world that you could absolutely turn into a TV series, 100 percent.

“A series with the older generation [Marauders], that could be very cool.”

Radcliffe has been in a relationship with actress Erin Darke, whom he met on the set of Kill Your Darlings, since 2012.
